I went to Tamarack today. These are Rod Queen's fingers making pottery.
If you're not from around here, Tamarack is a difficult place to describe. You can purchase any sort of traditional craft item, original artworks, great food... watch a blacksmith pound iron, a glassblower make glass, a potter throw pots. I could write a few paragraphs and not really describe the place.

Sounds cool! Is there an airport nearby?

BKW would be your closest I assume (Beckley, WV). Tamarack is at Exit 44 on I-79, so it's about 10 miles from BKW. If you go, be sure to plan on eating a meal. The food is out of this world and very reasonably priced. The Greenbrier is in charge of the food.
There is also Fayettevills Airport on Route 19 that is only about 20 minutes from Tamarack. Small planes only need apply. Or a very brave pilot.
Hi Shane... good to see you here. Good to see you at the capitol the other day too. Fayetteville is a little far, but certainly anybody flying this way would want to go by that way to see the New River Gorge Bridge.
I love to get Greenbrier coffee at Tamarack, and the art exhibits are usually interesting.

I'll come down once I get the RV-6. I have to close on it June 30, then need 10 hours dual with a CFI. Maybe I can finally give you that ride I've owed you for what, 15 years?
Rick,
I grew up near the Gorge. Have you taken any photos there or at Lover's Leap? If so, I'd love to see them!
I love going over Gauley Mountain in the fall. It is beautiful!
Hey Jen... I've done some work for Class VI rafting company which is right there south of the bridge.
