In Joe Re's Herb Garden

That spider was huge... but it was also dead. I wanted to get a close shot.. so when I finally realized it was dead it made getting that shot a lot easier.

Sunset on the New River

Sorry for no post last night. I've spent the last two days working for ClassVI River Runners on the New River. I thought I'd have Internet access up there but no go. It rained cats and dogs on Tuesday but cleared up in time to give us a really great sunset.

Ties that don't bind

My Neighbor's Daisies

I've shot this patch of daisies a few times before. In the morning when they are covered with dew I find them irresistible.

Seen at Festivall

Festivall... this weekend in Charleston, WV I don't know who that is behind the blue mask, but that other one is well-known Charleston artist, Charlie Hamilton.

I popped into Taylor Books because I had heard that they were showing a few of my pastel paintings. They have some of my pieces in storage that they bring out occasionally. Those are my three pieces on the right. Feel free to go to the Taylor Books Annex Gallery and purchase them!

My sister-in-law Debbie said she wanted credit for these flowers. They are in her front garden.

Produce Blogging #54

Because Thursday night is grocery night!

Fish Redux

Here's a few leftover shots from the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. These are from an exhbit of tropical fish tanks such as you could have at home. Adam has some good shots of these same fish.

These fish that look like they are just bones are called "glassfish" and they seem to be just totally transparent... like glass. It's really quite bizarre. They had them displayed in a tank with bits of clear glass in the bottom and the effect was wild.

Big Tree

Avian Thugs

Are these the notorious brown-headed cowbirds?... known for laying their eggs in other nests and taking off to let the poor schmuck birds raise the young cowbirds. I saw this group near the 7-11 on my way to work. Thugs always hang out at the 7-11, don't they? If you're a bird expert (I'm not), let me know if I'm right or wrong. (BTW, this is more bird-blogging for my Aunt Carol. Are you happy now?)

Bug question

Adam is asking for help identifying a giant bug he saw in Florida. If you know about such things, have a look.

Tampa, Harbor Island

Downtown Tampa

The Old Tampa Bay Hotel, Part 2

I went back this morning because the light was so much better. My previous shots are here.
