Teen team building...

... at the "Raze" anti-tobacco rally in Charleston.

My only complaint with programs like Raze is that they seem to appeal mostly to the cool and comically attractive students who aren't going smoke anyway. They should also try to do more to reach out to the awkwardly-drawn kids that are smoking behind the dumpster before drama club rehearsals by pointing out that they will look normal by age 19 and they don't want to be addicted to stupid nicotine around the time that girls will actually start talking to them.

Wow, that was probably my most autobiographical blog comment ever. :)

Hmmm... interesting comments. If there was ONE demographic I'd say was attracted to Raze, it would be the drama kids. After several years of producing high-quality tv spots featuring real-life WV teens, Raze is a really good way to get some serious acting experience. What they try to do at these conferences is to teach these kids to reach out to other kids and do activities in school to raise awareness of the danger. I'm only peripherally involved in this stuff so my views are just mine.
