After all these years, I finally went to Bridge Day. I had a lot of work to do for a client besides shooting jumpers, but I did get a few shots of the action. It's pretty startling to see people jump off the edge, 876 feet above the river.
You should go to visit "New River Gorge Preserve" (where they are selling home lots) and walk down the new hiking trails. They are some of the best hiking trails I've ever seen. It seems like in most of the state parks I've been to lately (in WV and Georgia) the hiking trails are built like little roads. These trails were just built this summer but they look like they've been there since Indian times. Some of the scenery you can see on these trails is quite stunning and it was all inaccessible before.

How the heck did you get those shots under the bridge? Did you climb on the bridge or did you have a great lens?
Fantastic!
Great shots. Do you know if anyone has ever gotten caught up in the ironwork of the bridge? Some of them look perilously close to it!
I was standing near the foot of the arch on the side of the gorge which is on my client's property. I was shooting with a 200mm telephoto lens.
They aren't really close to the bridge at all. Look at the parachute canopies in that first shot.
I see....
Years ago, when my boys were little, they had a spot below the bridge the was their favorite, secret place.
Hard to give that up.

Very cool. I've always wanted to go SEE Bridge Day.. I'm not crazy enough to participate. I love your work.
