Life on the Road: I-79 Dawn

On my way to West Virginia's eastern panhandle, I shot some pictures through the windshield. As Nitsa says... sometimes sharpness is overrated.

Were you driving and taking pictures at the same time? Cuz, that's dangerous. I love the pics.

Well... I don't RECOMMEND shooting while driving... or talking on the cell, or eating in the car... etc. One shouldn't do that. But shooting with the tiny little Pentax Optio only requires one hand, so driving is easy. At that time of the morning, it helps wake me up. :-) It's definitely safer than eating in the car, and I'm not going to stop doing that any time soon.

The location of the 5th photo in the sequence looks familiar. Its the same place as the 9/18/05 "Wet Road at Dawn." Different light though.

I love that top one, very moody and nice.

Davos... that's an extremely sharp eye you've got. When I was driving down the road doing the shooting, I saw that scene appear before me and I thought "hey, there it is again!"... so I popped one off. It looked a lot nicer in the wet version I think.

Mark... I like the first one as well. It's the very first shot I did that morning (Friday). It's still very dark out, so there is a lot of motion blur and you can see the headlights on the road, illuminating that yellow stripe. Somehow it all works really nicely. When I saw that one show up on the back of the camera, it was so cool that I was inspired to shoot a whole series.

We're so lucky to be West Virginians, we should thank God every day.

Kim... as you know, a person with a nursing degree can live anywhere he/she wants! Half my relatives work here.
