Kim... even though I knew what it was, I thought it looked like a bunch of trumpet mouthpieces... or perhaps a bunch of automobile valves. These are (just a few of the) individual pins on the back of a CPU that go into the cpu socket on the motherboard of your computer. Each of the pins is very tiny. I *think* they are gold plated. If you've never assembled or repaired a computer before, there's no way you'd guess it. If you have done this, it's pretty easy.
