Photo Safari

My nephew and I are heading out to take pictures this afternoon. Of what? We don't know yet. We'll both post something from the outing later today on our respective blogs. (He doesn't know it yet). Here is the link to Adam's photos.

Wellalrightythen... here are my shots from the outing. We went downtown, to the Town Center Mall and to the WV State Capitol.

A true mystery is why that shoe shine chair is still in that bathroom at the capitol. It's been there since before I worked for the House of Delegates, 1991 - 1994, and I have never seen anyone use it.

Oh yeah, lord knows how long that thing has been there. I worked at Culture & History in the late 70s and it was there then and looked very old. I'd suppose from the looks of it that it dated from the 40s. The building was built in the 30s, perhaps it's original to the building? Never seen it used myself but it makes me feel good to go in that bathroom and see it there. I don't know why. It's just extremely cool.

The skyscraper photo is surreal; the only thing keeping it looking "normal" is are the clouds! And is that Adam? He looks just like I pictured him.....

Rick, I love the shots, especially of the rotunda and architectural elements. Adam is progressing very well!

I sure would love to have that old shoeshine stand! What a great piece.
