It looks like extruded foam, the kind used in packing electronics.
Guess what I got today? A 4 MP digital camera and tripod. It was a gift from my son-in-law (on HIS birthday). Aren't I lucky? Now if I can just figure out how to use it.......
To me it really looks like the windshield in a car wash. That's what I would have guessed if I didn't know. I don't think anybody was really that close on this one. It's a picture of water bubbling up in a fountain, as seen here. What makes it so strange looking is that it was shot with a very high shutter speed so the water appears frozen. Frankly I was really surprised at what it looked like when I got it back home and looked at it on the computer. I didn't have it in mind for a "Mystery Photo" at first at all.

The inside of a windshield going through a carwash?
Looks like stucco or grout -- some kind of concrete produce.
Could be foam of some kind, but no real bubbles.
Hmmmm...ice in a glass? Or is it that I am just thirsty?
Can't wait to learn the answer!
Found your site from grumpy old man. Great blog!

water under ice
Or maybe a thawing bottle of ice, but it's definately ice and water.
I'm guessing moon glaciers. Yea, remember Moon Maiden in the Dick Tracy comics?
But I'm betting on styrofoam cup

Wow. Too, too weird. But, very cool.
Soap disolved in bath water; soap scum in water....
Mineralization of some sort?
I'm amazed.
