Hey Rick Sorry I haven't been around much! Did you take this last night. Because my husband and I were outside looking at the moon (which looked just like this) and I was complaining that I really needed more lenses and a tripod so that I could take photos of the moon. I have tried with my camera and it is not happening!
This is really a photo to illustrate how difficult it is to photograph the moon. It's an interesting shot but it's certainly not what I intended. I didn't intend for the bright crescent part of the moon to be that blown out. You always have to remember, the lit part of the moon is in daylight. So the contrast ratio between the sunlit moon and what you see on the ground is huuuuge. This causes no end of problems for people trying to get moonscape photos. Many of the night shots you see with the moon in it are "faked", with either double exposures or the moon just Photoshopped in.
I have not checked out your stuff lately... wonderful as usual, though. I love the "shopping" photos... and the asparagus from produce blogging. Thanks for the awesome images to see!
