... where it's not about the camera.
freaky.... the one little bump close to the center looks like clifford the big red dog.. :-)
I would've guessed it to be some sort of crabapple... but I've never seen those sort of designs and bumps before.. maybe it's got a disease?
A Michigander might call it a petoskey apple.Even though there's no such thing.
Don't fall asleep near it.
Money may not grow on trees, but red soccer balls do.
Whatever it is, save it for the Christmas tree
I'm still trying to find Clifford.
Kousa DogwoodI think this might be it; maybe the one in your picture isn't fully developed yet?
Kousa Dogwood it is! Cornus Kousa.
They won't last until Christmas, unless you dry them, I suppose. But if you have any deer nearby, they think it's a tasty snack.
See the last image on this page for a picture of kousa dogwood berries that look quite similar to yours.Or see just the image here.
I was there when Rick shot that and those things looked a lot like crab apples. But upon reflection the tree was very similar to a dogwood. Aren't Kousa Dogwoods the ones that are resistant to the disease that has been killing so many traditional dogwoods in the area? I think I recall John Mara talking about that.
Well.. finally we know! Thanks people. Jack can now tell the owner of the tree what they have. My mother's 2 regular dogwoods are both gone due to the blight.
