We spent Sunday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Above is Rodin's Balzac... below is Balzac's back. They don't allow photos in most of the exhibits but these sculpture areas are ok.
Well... there's usually always something special going on at the Met. This week there was a huge exhibit called "Americans in Paris"... it showed the American Impressionists such as Mary Cassat, Childe Hassam, etc. who studied in Paris. That was really crowded... but there were several other big shows that were crowded too. It always seems that most people are foreign visitors at the big museums. Oh BTW... the big Robert Polidori show of huge photographs of New Orleans after the flood was on display. It was great, but it was just a sideshow with these other huge exhibits of paintings going on.

Look at all the people! Is that sort of common at the museums? or just for an event? ( my small town wonderment of it all...)
