It really does rain in Seattle

I'm here in Seattle for a few days and it rained cats and dogs all day today. We tried to do some indoor stuff. The Seattle Art Museum doesn't allow photography except for this silly lobby with cars hanging from the ceiling.

Had a walk through Pike Place Market.

A long time ago I remember the comedian Dennis Miller doing a joke about West Virginia and the punch line was "there are guys over there building additions onto mobile homes!" At the time, it made me angry, but I've learned to have a sense of humor about such matters. After all, it's not like he was making it up.

UPDATE: Yep, it's a mushroom. I shot this on the same bike ride as the turtle. I was kind of startled to see the mushroom because it was a big as a softball. Here's a shot from turtle's-eye level:

Went mountain biking yesterday. The turtles are on the move. For some reason this time of year they like to get on the trail and sit right in the middle of it. It's dangerous... for them and me. These are two different turtles.
