Yep, it's a lamp. However, the camera is at the top looking down at the base... which is metal and reflecting the light from above. I made sure that cropped out the switch on the base which was a dead giveaway. The greenish portion is glass or some kind of plastic that looks like glass. The lamp was in my room at the Holiday Inn Capitol Hill in DC where I stayed night before last. Here I go to DC and do I show you cool photos of the capitol or monuments? No... I show you a lamp. I wanted to get some "Washington" shots but the sky was a very dull grey and no exterior shots were appealing.

Cool, I get first guess for a change. I say it's a lamp. Of the table or desk variety.
