I've shot photos in cath labs more times than I can remember, but yesterday I spent about half a day in there with various docs while they did actual procedures (not just posing for pics). It was really fascinating. I watched them push that fluid through the arteries and watched on the monitor where you could PLAINLY SEE where the artery was blocked. Fascinating indeed! It's all like a video game except that under that blue sheet... somebody's mom is laying there.

Aren't these fascinating? One of the cardiologists at work has a pen with a "window" with a stent floating in it so he can show the patients.

I work in a cath lab. I always try to remember that there is a REAL person under that sheet too.
