Bright lights, empty aisles

I had to go to the grocery store tonight, which is not my usual grocery shopping night. It might have been because it was Wednesday... it might be because of the post holiday slowdown... but the place was empty.

You know the SouthPark episode where everyone stops shopping at 'evil' Walmart and takes their business to the Mom and Pops on the corner....then the Mom and Pops Becomes bigger than Walmart? Ermm... Yes.

So....who takes a picture of a grocery isle at night and makes it looks interesting? How DOES that happen? Im so jealous.

I love the perspective of the first shot. Makes the place look all the more empty and huge. Although when taking that, did you have to nonchalantly pretend you were tying a shoelace or something? I find it hard to take photos in places like a grocery store because people give me the funniest looks. But then, you did say the place was emtpy....

I'm pleased to see supermarket shots that aren't produce but I also hope you'll keep shooting the fruits and veggies.

Well yeah... I have to be surreptitious to a certain extent... most stores have rules against photography in the store. In that shot, the camera is actually sitting on the ground. Since I waited for a time when there was nobody in the picture, it wasn't that embarrassing. Also, as a professional photographer, I'm a lot more enured to that kind of thing than most people.
