Winter Rainbow

I stepped out my front door one morning last week and I saw that there were some interesting clouds being lit up by the sunrise.

And then suddenly... and literally right before my eyes, this appeared...

I thought that it would disappear just as fast but it persisted as I drove to town. I could have stopped and taken photos at twenty different points, but I was actually in a big hurry to get to an appointment. I did stop on Bridge Road to get a shot of the St. Matthews Episcopal steeple.

This was a "Hail Mary" shot out of the car window. Is there a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Perhaps it's in the Chase Bank vault??

Great to see that you got shots of the rainbow that I mentioned in the comments on your last Charleston skyline post. I can't wait to show them to my son, Daniel. Thanks for capturing the moment. Love the shot with Chase Bank.

The first one actually has two rainbows.. very cool... I have had the same shot near our house, but I couldn't get far enough back to get it all in one shot.. I had to do a stitch job on mine.

Yeah, I had to pull out the big camera and put the really wide lens on there to get the whole rainbow. I couldn't get the whole thing with the pocket camera.

Amazing, that is all that needs to be said.

You got a picture of it! I saw it on my way to work, but by the time I got there and got my camera out, it had already faded.

Wasn't that an awesome rainbow? I've never seen one that big or bright!
