I spent the whole day indoors re-organizing my filing cabinet. I didn't shoot anything today so I raided my old stuff for a photo to post. I shot it the same evening that I shot the
orange moon. It's not an especially
good photo but it's interesting. The bridge and the capitol building are 1.5 miles apart. The very long telephoto lens makes them appear closer.

That photo almost makes it look like a BIG city!
That's one of the funny things about Charleston. It kinda looks like a fairly large city with several decent sized office buildings, hotels, the State Capitol, the Clay Center Museum & Auditorium, the Charleston Town Center Mall, and 3 Interstate hiways running through town. But the fact is, hardly anybody lives here. Go figure.
That skyline never fails to inspire awe. It's sometimes hard to believe that is in our state.
to me, those trees (I assume they're trees) look like smoke between the bridge and the Capitol. Black billowing smoke. freaky.
pretty.
and to me, Charleston is fairly well sized.
Great shot Rick! You have the ability to catch Charleston in so many different poses. Thanks for your effort to focus your lense on WV and create a postive view of the state and its capital city.
Probably the coolest Charleston skyline photo I've seen in a really long time. Maybe ever!
I love the color!
