That spider was huge... but it was also dead. I wanted to get a close shot.. so when I finally realized it was dead it made getting that shot a lot easier.
Do spiders do that? Interesting thought. The thing was quite dessicated so that I could blow it around easily with my breath. But it was still a perfectly shaped spider. Seems unlikely to me that it would retain its shape so well if it molted.
