Weed Flower

I went for a walk in the woods yesterday. I thought perhaps I'd find some interesting wildflowers or insects. I didn't. This ordinary flowering weed was the best I could come up with.

When your camera hits it - it is no longer ordinary, Rick!

Ordinary, maybe. But your eye (through your lens) makes it something we mortals can appreciate and understand. Keep shooting, Rick.

Rick, nice, but a weed is simply a plant growing in the wrong place!

My definition of weed is any plant that grows too easily and too fast. I started on a trail building project a few years ago and I was astonished to see how fast and furious some plants grow (a good trail can become impassable between June 15 and July 30) and how fast those same plants disappear in the fall. It's no mystery where all that soil comes from.
