Thanks! I do too... strange that it never sold. I did another pastel from that village and it sold via the Internet to a nice fellow who had just bought an old house in the town and was moving to Castle Combe from Bristol. (in that village, "old" means more than 300 years) I had to figure out how to ship a fragile pastel painting to England. It did make it ok finally.
Yes... black paper... the first time I saw pastel on black paper I was attracted to the process. I just had to have a go at it. I got the idea from a very talented WV artist, Diana Suttenfield.

What a beautiful collection! The use of black paper seems to make the colors so much more vibrant.
