Driving through Montana on a Fall day...

... saw some pretty scenery...

...saw a real ghost town (just like Disney!)...

...saw a whole bunch of these things... can you tell me what they are? My guess is that they are for stacking hay...

... hoped to see a lot of wildlife but this was pretty much it.

I should be back in West Virginia tomorrow.

Aren't those the cages they used to pen humans in "Planet of the Apes"???

The talons on that eagle give one pause. Yikes!

Gorgeous photos. Stately eagle.

That object was a tiger trap. You can tell that they work because there are no tigers roaming wild in Montana.

Great pictures, and site, Rick! Can't wait to see the other photos of the teens. Glad you could visit the Big Sky state. PS. The wooden structure is used to bail hay but I'm not quite sure how that works.

I can't believe you made it to Garnet. While I was in school out there, I spent countless hours photographing in the buildings. All of these images have delighted me endlessly. Thanks for posting them!

Mandy... having now been to Garnet, I also can't believe we went there! We had some time to kill because the airline cancelled our flight. So we just picked a ghost town at random as a destination. Boy, it sure is out of the way. Fun trip, but it was closed up for the Winter... we could only look through the windows into the buildings. Pretty interesting still.
