May Sky on Hunters Ridge

I stopped on the way to the grocery store last night... just as a storm was passing... to record this May sky for posterity.

Flower Back

This was actually in the produce department of Krogers, but I just didn't feel like including it with Produce Blogging.

Produce Blogging #51

Because Thursday night is grocery night! That's the first time I've noticed aparagas with the seeds popping out.

Front Porch Flora

I didn't have anything good to post today, so I went out on my front porch and shot these.

Daisy, Daisy...

I took my mother shopping for hanging flower baskets on Mothers' Day. I got quite a few nice photos of flowers at the nursery.

Red Shed

Old / New

What would the builder of this store think about the fact that it's now a satellite television service outlet. What would he think about television for that matter?

Produce Blogging #50

Fifty! Because Thursday night is grocery night!
UPDATE: In celebration of number fifty, here's a look back if you care to. To answer a few frequently asked questions... all of the produce shots are done in the store using a small pocket camera and using the regular store fluorescent lighting. It's against store rules just about anywhere to take pictures inside, but I do it anyway. I am discreet about it.

Lone Trees

Trees in a forest are somehow less beautiful than trees standing alone. As I said yesterday, I was driving through Roane County, West Virginia and these trees stood out to me. My father grew up in this county, and I love the scenery. The topography is much less harsh than southern WV.

Angelic Cows

I was driving through Roane County, West Virginia today and I saw these cows with halos sitting on the hillside. I just had to get a shot but I had a truck on my tail and it took forever to find a good spot to turn around. I'm glad I took the time though.

Hmmm... a science experiment?

West Virginia State Capitol

I shot a few more shots of the capitol building while I was waiting for someone at the House of Delegates chamber. See more here.

Why did the turtle cross the road?

Seen this morning driving to work.

Byron Leftwich

I didn't have anything good to post today, so I raided the files for something interesting.

Mystery #68

Do you know what this is? Post your guesses in the comments. It's been a while since we've had a mystery photo, hasn't it?

Backlit Leaf With Blue

I walked to the FasCheck store this evening and I took along my new (big huge bulky) Nikon D200 camera. It's not as handy as the little Fuji F10 pocket camera, but it sure does a good job.

Reflected Sun

I've photographed this building many times, but I stopped to do it again this afternoon. The afternoon sun was reflecting off of brown brick across the street making a really warm effect on the ornate Payne Building.
