Celestial bodies in an Ohio corn field.

I was driving to Columbus and I jumped out of the car to quickly shoot the sun going down. As I was getting back in the car, I looked up and saw the moon directly over my head... as bright as I've ever seen it in daytime.
UPDATE: Another version here.

surely THIS shot of the moon wasn't taken with the Fuji????

very nice. did you get the black sky on the moon shot from exposure or editing?

in my RSS reader the pictures show up flush, without a space or border between them. because of the black at the bottom of the sunset these two looked like a single picture. it was a lovely effect.

Hehe... not the compact Fuji. Nikon D300 with 18-200mm VR lens. I was freaked out when I saw how good the shot was on the computer because it was just a really quick grab shot.

Wishy... the black sky is just from exposure. I tried to get the blue sky back in Photoshop, but I couldn't do it without it being goofy looking so I just left it black. It was a really nice deep blue when I saw it with my eyes. But the moon was just intensely bright in the super clear winter air.
