Why do stars fall down from the sky...

...Every time you walk by?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you.

Thanks for the comment, Rick. I agree that one can do cool things with a point-and-shoot. I shot my nephew's birthday party today with his grandma's little Kodak and got some decent results. But the point I was making was that because of my camera, I had to wait for a few seconds when the stupid thing processed the picture. And while it was doing that, I missed some awesome lightning! Having used a DSLR before, I know it would have helped a lot! Also, it was my pathetic attempt to get some rich friend (as if I had one) to buy me that Canon...

PS: The comment was not meant to be a slam on "it's not about the camera." I do agree with you. But when my camera acts up on me like it often does, it BECOMES very much about the camera.

Oh, I understand Toby... I often contradict myself about that dictum anyway.

RE: Toby:

HOLY CRAP I WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM LAST NIGHT!!!! I had to wait for my shot to process before i could take another photo and i missed several lightning strikes because of it. So frustrating, but look to my photobucket because i did catch some great results. I'll post them later tonight. The Canon powershot works great for the lightning, but it still takes a sec for it to process after taking an open frame pic.

Just adorable. The rat is so cute. I used to have 8 all together. I miss them so much. They make GREAT pets though not really for small children.
