The new Sitemeter is useless

If you use Sitemeter, you're in for a shock this morning. The old Sitemeter we have known and loved is gone. In it's place is something completely useless. I'm in mourning.

I agree completely. I hate the thing. I have no idea what it's telling me. I used the # of hits for the past 7 days link all the time to look at trends and I have no idea where the thing went.

Just logged in and it just keeps saying loading reports. It is hung up. Based on your assessment I suspect I' not going to like it -- but I can't even tell b/c it won't load.

I've started to use Google Analytics more adn this might be the reason to switch entirely.

Everyone else hates it, too.

I can't even log in anymore, and when I could I didn't even have access to half of the tabs down the side. I'm holding out an ounce of hope that all of these problems will go away once their site load drops to normal.

I use Feedburner, I think it does all the same things you are talking about...

It's just awful, I can't tell what my stats are and I can't even find a way to manage the damn thing. Nowhere to go from the stat page. Drop downs with only one choice?

I agree, pretty much useless. The boxes are small and hard to read if you have a monitor with 1680x1050 resolution or higher. In addition, earlier in the day it wouldn't work with Firefox and I had to run IE. Another example of making a simple thing complicated in the name of improvement. Much like cameras, come to think of it.

I have figured out how to get SOME of the information that I'm used to getting, but it's very complicated and time-consuming compared to the old HTML system. The new system is Flash based which is crazy. Flash is necessary for some things, but often it's just stupid to use Flash instead of HTML... I think this is one of those times. I guess this means Sitemeter won't work on the iPhone... that just occurred to me. Sheesh.

I don't care for it either-after checking it out on other sites I'm not sure if I want to "activate" - time to pause.

'Looks like universal hatred succeeded. I just tried to look at the main sitemeter page and got a note saying they're rolling back to the old system. Heh.

I now have the old Sitemeter back. What a relief.

Try statcounter instead.
