I think dusk (I'm assuming these were taken at dusk, not dawn) is such a great time of the day to take pics; the contrast of natural and artificial light is always interesting. Great shots-- as always!
I especially love the first photo. It looks like you stepped back in time. There are no identifiers (at least in this tiny version) of the 21st century. Very cool.
I guess that's the intended effect Holl... that's Capitol Street in the restored Victorian district in downtown Charleston (WV). All the storefronts have been restored to a Victorian look and the city has put in appropriate streetlights, etc. It's mostly offices and small shops now. When I was a kid, this was the main shopping street in town with department stores, shoe stores, clothing, etc. Now it's mostly law offices, and specialty shops. These photos were taken just in front of the building where my new office is. I'm happy to be part of the Capitol Street scene finally.

Yes, dusk is my absolute favorite.
I like the early morning better, at least for landscapes and scenery. For people I like the evening light.
