Wal-Mart Goldfish, Part 2

It's been a while since I've photographed the fish at Wal-Mart... but I was back in that part of the store yesterday searching for Christmas tree lights and I noticed the fish department. I love the orange color against that blue background. If only they'd clean the glass once in a while.

DWP

Driving while photographing... but not looking. While driving home from eastern Kentucky this evening I was thinking about how I didn't have anything to post on the blog tonight. There was a great sunset happening but I really didn't feel like stopping to take pictures, so I decided to see what would happen if I took a lot of pictures without looking. I shot a lot of pictures... 198 to be exact. Here are a few that I picked out. They required a lot of cropping and color correcting, etc. But it's pretty cool to see what I could come up with in this way.

At the Mall on Saturday

I like this shot for some reason, but the odd thing about it is that is does not at all show how insanely crowded it was on Saturday at the Town Center Mall.

Shopping in Old Town Alexandria

This is a store called "Decorium". It's fascinating. It's like a cave in there.

I thought about saving this for a patriotic holiday, but I know my memory isn't that good.

Snowy Morning

It snowed yesterday... boy howdy... not that much accumulation, but I drove to Morgantown yesterday and I saw at least 10 accidents. I saw two of them happen. It was quite an adventure. Yesterday morning I thought I might get some good snow pictures, but there was no way I was stopping my car on the Interstate... too dangerous!

Capitol Flag

At the Hirshhorn, Part 2

The main reason to post these shots is this photo, which shows the whole sculpture titled "Needle Tower" which Peter Hoh asked about.

Library of Congress

I've photographed this building a few times. I was going to go inside and get some shots of the incredible reading room, but there's a gauntlet of security you have to go through now and I just didn't really have the time. I think this building is one of the most beautiful in DC.

These trees are beside the building.
