Art at Tamarack

I saw some pieces of art at Tamarack by Alison Helm of Morgantown. I was not previously familiar with her work, but I liked what I saw.

I live in Austin, but love Tamarack! Are her pieces all metal? Very cool!

Hi Regina... in addition to the metal, there was what appeared to be painted wood and some sort of plastic or glass fibers. The painted wood appeared to be painted with many layers and then rubbed to reveal patterns of color.

BTW... once upon a time, I had an exhibit in that gallery.

Rick - I never spent as much time there as I wanted - it is a wonderful place. Was your exhibit photography? Last time I was there was 2004 on a trip to Huntington and my husband bought a beautiful dulcimer.

Nice stuff but not as nice as the art I've seen on this blog.

I took a sculpture class from Alison Helm and she's an amazing sculptor. Have always been a fan of her work.

BTW... Alex and I agreed that it seemed like the zip ties did not belong on the fibers. I'm wondering if they were supposed to have been taken off after shipping. Just a thought.
