Photo hardware

I had a little plumbing job to do... naturally this meant multiple trips to Lowes.

If you want to do this sort of photography while shopping... as opposed to doing it while getting paid to do it... you really need to have a high tolerance for looking like a fool in public. I used to embarrass easily... not so much now.

This is a sculpture at the entrance to Trace Fork Shopping Center where the local Lowes store is located. The sculpture is by my friend Jeff Fetty.

The top photo looks like something you'd find in the lobby at Trump Plaza.

"... Trump Plaza"

I can see that... but I'm just curious if you know what it really is.

I have no idea what it is - and the photos are't loading for me now - just a box with a red x. Wonder why?

Okay, I got the photos again. Maybe it is a ribbed glass ceiling fixture with a gold/bass knob in the center?

The photos are hosted on my www.rickleephoto.com domain, rather than on Blogger... my hosting company moved me to a new server this morning because the 2 Instapundit links were causing me to go over my bandwidth allocation. I'm assuming that the brief outage was due to that.

The strange looking thing in the first picture is the interior of one of those fancy bathroom sink basins. Most of the shots are from the plumbing section of the store... all except the green and blue wire I believe.

Woops... the blue red and yellow handles are in the gardening section.

Glad you got "instalanched" (whatever that means).

I thought of a sink too, but decided the thing in the middle was too large. Maybe the perspective skewed it.

Dude... you are shooting the stuff at the hardware store. And you are making it look fantastic. I gotta get me one of them little cameras and start shooting the things around me. I'm inspired.

Thanks Don! The guys should know that after they are finished looking at hardware here, they can always go to http://wizwow.blogspot.com and look at girls in bikinis. Hard to compete, really.

Your pics are awesome!! Who knew that a hardware store could look so cool! My husband saw me looking at those last night and was like "Why are you looking at pictures of pipes and wires?" He thought I'd lost it.
