Here's another one of these monster houses that I shoot from time to time. People seem to enjoy seeing these. I just shot this one at Deep Creek Lake in Maryland on Monday.
You're imagining things. It's brand spanking new and I'm the first photographer in there. I guess if you seen one 6000 sq ft timber-frame, you've seen 'em all?
Scott... actually it DOES look like that naturally... to the eye... the problem is making it look like that in a photo. Architectural photography is funny that way. The lighting that exists in most buildings is way too contrasty to be captured in a photo. You end up with real bright areas and real dark areas... so you have to add a lot of light to it to even things out. If the lighting is done well, you can't tell you did anything.
Great image. Do you need an apprentance?
ReplyDeleteI could live there (if you'll pay the taxes and the power bill....lol)
ReplyDeleteHi Tracy... good to see your name here. Do you work cheap?... er, free?
ReplyDeleteBTW Tracy... that's 6 strobe heads and about an hour's work. All that running up and down stairs in my sock feet really wears me out.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I've seen this published elsewhere. Am I imagining things?

ReplyDeleteummm yeah, that must be it.
ReplyDeleteseems to me, cheap, free, yeah thats me.
ReplyDeleteYou mean it doesn't look that way naturally? :)
ReplyDeleteAs always, great work. But you knew that.
Yeah... I like to see these photos because it helps me with the dreaming about living in one of these beautiful houses!
ReplyDeleteNicely done, BTW.

ReplyDeleteThe rafters remind me of MC Escher.
