The Keith-Albee

This rather startling bit of theater architecture is in Huntington, WV. It seems that a lot of people take it for granted.

  1. WOW~! I had not thought of that place in years! I was there once, in 1961 or 2.

I guess "normal" is a relative term, but I like to think I sould say "Wow!" every time I walked in. Probably not, I guess.

  3. Hey, the local children's theatre (First Stage Theatre Co.) is staging "High School Musical" on that stage this weekend! (As the director, I couldn't resist the chance at a free plug.) But the theatre is amazing - a real gem!

  4. Plug away! I noticed they had Peter Pan in there last week. I love seeing that the theater is being used for live performances. It was built as a vaudeville theater. I looked up the web site for the theater and they have an interesting history there. I thought it was interesting that the "Albee" name comes from the famous Edward Albee who was one of the owners of this and other vaudeville theaters.
