Spring Flowers

My neighbor's grape hyacinth are up and at 'em. The tiny little things are so cute.

  3. They're so small... I can't get my nose down there to check out the fragrance.

  4. Aw, I love them. Mine aren't even up yet; maybe that means they aren't going to bloom this year. Darn.

  5. Can I ask what lens you were using? The background in the second shot it wonderful!

  6. Anna... it's the Fuji F30 set on macro. I was just explaining to my nephew Adam how the out-of-focus highlights take on the shape of the lens iris. Most "good" lenses have specially shaped irises that make the opening round no matter what f-stop you're on. The little Fuji has six flat blades on the iris which makes the neat hexagon shapes.
