... to whoever the slob was at the Sears Auto Center who made a mess of putting my inspection sticker on. He didn't scrape off all of the old sticker and he put the new one on very crooked. I have to look at this for a year. Great.
That would annoy me enough to pay an additional $11.66 to get another sticker....from a different place of course. I have a brand new car with it's very 1st inspection sticker on it though. I love the 1st sticker....it's all downhill after that.
We got four tires at Sears and lost two hubcaps on the way home. How hard is it to replace a freaking hubcap?
I got the oil changed at WalMart. Within a few days the engine died after a whirr and then a CLANK. The mechanic said there was no point even trying to figure out what broke. The car was a beater so I didn't sue but it still pissed me off. Funny how the department manager was never around whenever I showed up.
I used to work in a department store and there were these guys who literally spit on the clothing, tumbled boxed television/audio equipment and pissed all over the toilet seats and stall floors.
In the men’s suits department, they had what they called “abuse the customer” night where salesmen would compete to see who could bust balls the most before chickening out. Stuff like telling a guy picking up an altered suit it’s in the back and then disappearing for three minutes only to come out with the wrong suit. Then he goes back and eventually comes out with the right suit but it’s all askew and rumpled on the hanger. He'd then make a big show out of "Oh, I'm so very sorry, sir, here, let me fix this right up for you." Stuff like that.
Rick: They probably didn't know you were an artist and needed order in your life. We have to have our emissions checked in order to buy the license plate. There is no sticker involved in Ohio.
This is a true story. I had a friend who went to grad school in Alabama, he took his car to be inspected and the mechanic said, "Inspection, what's that?" My friend said, "You know, you check the car out and put a sticker on the windshield." The mechanic said, "Son, this here's Alabama. You don't even have to have a windshield."
Nice. What ever happened to being proud of work?

Count your lucky stars they didn't find a $1,000 worth of work that needed done before you get that crooked sticker.
ReplyDeleteThey do stuff like that on purpose.
ReplyDeleteYou know, stick it to the man.
It’s your fault they hate their job.

Mac's Garage - St Albans. Trust me.
"Son, this here's Alabama. You don't even have to have a windshield." Ha! That's funny.
