Hmmm...an optical illusion? At first glance, I thought it was a glass of milk sitting on a table. Now I see guitar, or maybe dulcimer, if the curve isn't too deep.

I don't think it can be a violin or a cello. The curve isn't right. I suppose it could be a guitar, but it looks like there's a strange twist at the top left.
I agree with Beth. At first glance I thought it was something on a wooden table. My first thought was a visor, but I'm not sure.
