A red shed...

... that I saw on the way to Clarksburg. If I'm not mistaken, this is the same shed I shot last winter.

Charleston's FestivALL

I hung around downtown today for a bit shooting street activities of our FestivALL arts festival. The festival is a lot more than this, with great concerts and all sorts of exhibits, but this is about all I have time for this year, in addition to the Julian Beever drawing.

Oh man, the kids love Drew the Dramatic Fool. I have to admit the guy is funny. He has taken a very small amount of talent and whipped it into an actual act.

Above is Bob Coffield, and below is Rebecca Burch... both notable Charleston area bloggers.

Julian Beever, the greatest sidewalk artist in the world...

... finished his piece for the Charleston (WV) FestivALL today. I was lucky to be able to be there. He's a great guy to talk to and he just works like a madman.

Julian hails from the midlands of Great Britain. Many sources on the Internet say that he lives in Belgium, but Julian informs me that he is now residing in the UK.

When he was finally finished and the light was waning, I was the only professional photographer still hanging around so I was privileged to push the button on his camera (on tripod) to take photos of him in the raft. The public was allowed to jump in the raft and take photos. What a great day at FestivALL! See Julian's web site here. Tom Hindman has more photos.
p.s. No produce blogging tonight... maybe tomorrow.

UPDATE: Welcome Instapundit readers! You can click the photos for larger versions. You can go here to view my main page.
UPDATE2: More Charleston FestivALL photos here.
UPDATE3: CORRECTION... I wrote that Julian resides in Belgium, but he emailed to say that he is now residing in the UK.

Turnpike Morning

It was one of those special mornings on the West Virginia Turnpike when the air was clear and cool and the mist hung in the valleys.

I don't often post strictly "work" pictures on the blog. Here's one just to let you see some of my day-to-day work. This is a new Holiday Inn in Beckley, WV.

Roane County Bucolic

I was working at Roane General Hospital today. I really love the scenery on the drive there. Be sure to click the photo for a larger view. I blogged from Roane County last year... click and click.

Julian Beever is coming....

... to Charleston. This is exciting. I'm almost certain you've seen this artist's work show up in your email inbox sometime in the last few years. He's coming to Festivall.

The Inchworm

It was going along the deck. Adam noticed it first. I don't know if he's going to blog photos of it, but I hope he does. I shot some pictures of it on the deck and then on my nephew Matthew's hand and arm.
